Kakwa Falls

Kakwa Falls is a relatively hidden gem. It can be found after travelling a rugged trail full of climbs and boulder ridden descents. Through boggy muskeg and bear country lies a beautiful set of waterfalls. The first time I visited these beauties was via helicopter on assignments for Travel Alberta and I have to be honest, as amazing as it was to travel by heli, I felt I had cheated a little. Two years later and I was back, this time on the back of my Surly Bridge Club. I had the bike set up to run rugged but even then I often felt under biked. What a beauty of a trip!
